Aidpage group discussing "help wanted"...

My name is Tiffany, i am 20 yrs old and i live in Waterford Michigan.  I am posting this because my family really needs some help. I have had to drop out off college in order to help my mother take care of my now mentally handicapped father. We only have one vehicle that is on the verge of breaking down and to much driving to do with just one vehicle. My dad has therapy 3 days a week which is about 100 miles round trip, my brother and i work to help support my parents and the drive is 40 minutes round trip. My brother goes to school in holly still which is an hour drive round trip. I cannot go to college because my parents need my car and they do not have the money to purchase a vehicle. My father just received SSI and gets $435 a month. However rent is $505 plus utilities and of course gas. I work full time to help pay bills but only make $7.55 an hour and also pay $120 every other week on my car in order to keep it, i also maintain the insurance. I do not know where to turn, we do not have the money for another vehicle and when the one we have breaks down it will b nearly impossible to care for my dad. He has therapy and tons of doctors appointments on top of everything in between. I don't know where to begin to look for a vehicle. We do not have the money and getting a donation has proven impossible

Dad's Story:

On January 23,2009 my father became unconscious and was unresponsive to medical care, he was revived 3 times and unstable for hours. When he awoke at Genesys Hospital we found out that he had brain trauma from lack of oxygen. While in the hospital he fell 3 times and broke his shoulders. My father is only 45 yrs old, he can barely talk and when he does it is very hard to understand him, he cannot walk on his own, and he is just becoming able to use the bathroom, he had to be catheterized for months. We were told he would never walk again and that his recovery would never make him normal. His brain damage is permanent however he has shown some improvement. Because of his condition and risk my mother had to quit her job. She and my father stayed at the hospital for a little over 30 days before returning home. In the mean time i took care of my 16 yr old brother and paid as many bills as i could because i was the only one with income. My mother had to sell her van to help pay rent and we only now have my car. We lost our apartment and had to move, we now reside in Waterford and everything is in my name because the eviction ruined my mothers credit and my father legally cannot have anything in his name. I still have a job in Holly and my brother now works at the same place i do. My mother still cannot work because my father needs 24 hour care.

If anyone could please help me find some way to get a cheap or donated vehicle it would make a world of difference. I know we all have problems but it seems as though we cant escape ours. I am in no way begging anyone, i am working my self to the max to help my parents out. Any information to where I can get help would help my family a lot. Please respond, we would forever appreciate it!
